It started with a conversation about a camera that had already recorded everything.
Every small business owner has a version of the same story. Something happened — stock walked out, someone fell, a door was left open overnight — and the cameras caught all of it perfectly. Nobody saw it until the next day. The footage was excellent. The outcome was identical to having no cameras at all.
The industry's answer to that gap has been to sell a whole new system. New cameras, new cabling, a per-camera cloud subscription, a capital project. It is a good answer for a company with a facilities budget and a security team. It is not an answer at all for a store with twelve cameras, four staff and a payroll to meet on Friday.
So we built the other thing. One appliance that sits behind the cameras already on the wall, does the understanding on site, and speaks up while there is still time to act. Nothing replaced, nothing re-cabled, nothing shipped to somebody else's data centre to be looked at.
